Privacy Policy

Bemidji Ruck Club (“BRC,” “we,” or “our”) operates a private-member community app and website for group rucking. This policy describes how information is used by our service, including when you choose to sign in with Google. For questions or privacy requests, contact bemidjiruckclub@gmail.com.
Information we collect
- Account and profile: your email address, account identifier, chosen name, optional biography and photo, account status, and club administrator permissions.
- Google sign-in: if you select Google, our authentication provider receives the Google account information and authorization details necessary to sign you in, such as your Google account identifier and email address and any basic profile information you authorize. Google sign-in is for authentication; we do not use it to read your Gmail, contacts, Drive, or calendar.
- Rucking activity: outings, attendance, dates, distance, duration, pack weight, club-credit decisions, milestones, nicknames, gear, and any notes you add. If you initiate GPS recording, coordinates and route information may be stored with that activity.
- Communications: club messages, direct and group messages, shared photos, comments, reactions, reports, and member-blocking settings.
- Optional fitness details: measurements such as body weight and height that you choose to add for activity estimates. Apple Health and Android Health Connect sync are not active features of this website at this time.
- Technical information: authentication cookies and necessary security, diagnostic and service data used to operate and protect the site.
How we use information
We use information to authenticate accounts, review member applications, arrange club outings, show activity and milestone progress, provide chat and community features, manage equipment records, investigate reports, and maintain the security and reliability of the service. We do not use your Google sign-in to access unrelated Google services.
Who can see information
Approved club members can see the profile details, member milestones, and club activity presented in the app. Personal rucks may also appear to other approved members by default; members can mark supported personal activities private. Recorded routes can reveal sensitive places. Profile settings may hide the beginning and end of a route from other members, but this does not guarantee a location cannot be inferred.
Messages in crew conversations are shown to their relevant participants; direct and group chats are not part of the public website. Club administrators can review membership status, manage club records and respond to reports. Account email addresses are not displayed in the member directory.
Service providers
BRC uses Cloudflare to host the app and store club records and uploaded photos, and Supabase for account authentication. Google is involved when you elect to use Google sign-in. These providers process the information needed to deliver their respective services, subject to their applicable terms and privacy practices.
Retention and deletion
Records can remain in the club service while an account or historic club activity is maintained. We do not currently offer a self-service permanent account-deletion button. To request access, corrections, or removal of account-related information, email bemidjiruckclub@gmail.com. Some verified club attendance, award and historical records may need review before removal because they also concern other members.
Security and your choices
Only approved members are allowed into member-only parts of the service. You can update your profile, manage supported personal-ruck sharing options, and use route-end privacy settings. No Internet service or route-concealment feature can guarantee complete security or anonymity.
Changes
We may update this policy as the club app develops, especially when native GPS or optional health-platform integrations are introduced. Updated versions will be posted on this page. Contact bemidjiruckclub@gmail.com with questions.
